Planetary Studies

I sometimes draw and paint things. I used to work more in graphics than I do now since I’ve been writing, but occasionally something comes out just like I imagined I would like it to. This is something I saw in a dream once. I was traveling through space with a whole bunch of other people and we were in this space capsule, and I (being a bad flyer) was really nervous about being out in space, and someone said, “Look, that’s where we’re going,” and I looked.

Outside the window of the spaceship floated a terran planet tucked between the folds of an astral cloud, like a verdant pearl hung in the vast blackness of space.
